Occurrence of P. aeruginosa in Water Intended for Human Consumption and in Swimming Pool Water

Considering the fact that water is a basic need of every living being, it important to ensure its safety. In this work, data on presence opportunistic pathogen P. aeruginosa in drinking (n = 4171) as well pool 5059) Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Croatia five-year period (2016–2020) were analysed. addition, national criteria compared with those neighboring countries and worldwide. The proportion aeruginosa-positive samples was similar for (3.9%) (4.6%). prevalence bacterium most pronounced warmer season. mostly collected during building commissioning, while from entertainment spa/hydromassage pools. Outdoor pools showed higher percentage positive than indoor pools, filled freshwater rather seawater. highest load found rehabilitation Croatia, Serbia Montenegro are have included their regulations an indicator safety human consumption bottled water, Slovenia Bosnia Herzegovina limited requirement only. case swimming parameter mandatory all considered study.
